We Cannot Evolve Without Empathy.

The Women’s Groovement is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by local area musician photographer, Lisa Sullivan. Our mission is to connect female artists within and outside of their communities to support each other, collaborate and create special art and music events. The funds from these events will be used to develop mentoring programs, establish scholarships and support other charitable organizations in our communities to give assistance to women and children to pursue their dreams.

Communicate, Create and Celebrate

The Women’s Groovement is interested in connecting established female musicians and artists in communities.  The goal is to take these connections and hold fundraisers and events to make money to fund scholarships, to connect to young artists that may not have a chance otherwise to follow their dreams of becoming an artist themselves, as programs have been drastically cut in schools and some out of school programs may not be affordable.  Another goal is to help with scholarships for young women who are interested in working in the trade industry and entrepreneur programs.

The inaugural year 2019 included a traveling art show, held once a month at various locations in the tristate – Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana currently.  Curator proceeds from these events went to fund scholarship accounts, funds were initially used to pay the female musicians that perform at these events until The Women’s Groovement becomes more established.

In 2020, TWG like many small businesses, profit and non-profit, are facing challenges financially during this global wide pandemic.  We have had to think outside the box, as we relied on public gatherings to raise funds up until now.

The Women’s Groovement is inclusive of the LGBTQ community and those who identify as female. The emphasis of our mission is growing Empathy and Community. We want to help encourage children to take pride in themselves inside and out. Small steps to fight against hatred and ignorance must start in the communities and grow and spread and build. We hope to gain your support in our mission!
